Hacksaw Gaming Analyzes Paraguay’s Potential and New Opportunities for iGaming Growth in the Region
August 5, 6, and 7, Hotel Casino Acaray, Ciudad del Este.
From August 5–7, 2026, the Acaray Hotel Casino & Convention Center in Ciudad del Este will host SAGSE Paraguay 2026, the event that will bring together operators, regulators, technology providers, and industry leaders to discuss the future of gaming and betting across Latin America.
In this context, we spoke with Marcus Cordes, Operational CEO of Hacksaw Gaming, about Paraguay’s appeal within the ongoing expansion of iGaming in the region, the key factors for connecting with a new generation of players in regulated markets, and the importance of building strong relationships with operators, regulators, and strategic partners. The company also shares its perspective on the role of innovation, mobile-first experiences, and high-quality entertainment as key drivers of sustainable growth in Latin America’s online gaming industry.
Why does Hacksaw Gaming see Paraguay as an interesting market within the growth of iGaming in Latin America?
Paraguay is taking clear, deliberate steps toward a regulated online environment, and that combination of a defined framework and a market still early in its development is exactly what makes it attractive to us. We're seeing strong appetite from local players for high-quality, mobile-first content, and operators who are genuinely invested in building for the long term. Latin America as a whole is one of the most dynamic regions in our industry right now, and Paraguay has the fundamentals to become an important part of that story. For us, entering a market at this stage means we can grow alongside our partners rather than simply arriving once everything is established.
What characteristics should an online content offering have in order to connect with new users in emerging and regulated markets like Paraguay?
Three things matter most. First, mobile-first design - in these markets the vast majority of players engage through their phones, often on variable connections, so games have to be light, fast and smooth. Second, immediate clarity: newer players don't want complicated mechanics, they want games that are easy to understand and rewarding to play from the very first spin. And third, trust. Content has to sit within a compliant, responsible framework, because a regulated market is built on player confidence. At Hacksaw, we focus on standout characters, simple but exciting mechanics and strong entertainment value, which is precisely what helps content travel well and connect with audiences who are new to online play.
What does it mean for Hacksaw Gaming to support SAGSE Paraguay 2026 and to be close to operators, regulators, and strategic partners in the region?
It means a great deal to us. Being present is a reflection of how seriously we take Latin America and our commitment to being part of its development, not just its commercial opportunity. Being close to operators lets us understand what players actually want; being close to regulators helps us build content and partnerships the right way, within a sustainable framework; and being close to strategic partners is how real, lasting business gets done. We don't see these events as a formality, they're where relationships are built, and those relationships are the foundation of everything we do in the region.
