SAGSE Paraguay 2026 Welcomes José “Pepe” Casapia Bardales, ALASCA Ambassador, to Lead the Operational Security Track
August 5, 6, and 7, Hotel Casino Acaray, Ciudad del Este.
SAGSE Paraguay 2026 will strengthen its content agenda with a key topic for the gaming industry: operational security as a strategic tool for management, prevention, and industry professionalization.
At this edition, to be held at the Acaray Hotel Casino & Convention Center in Ciudad del Este, José “Pepe” Casapia Bardales, ALASCA Ambassador — the Latin American Casino Security Association — and Corporate Security Manager at Novomatic Peru / Crown Gaming SAC, will participate as a featured speaker.
Casapia’s participation will bring to Paraguay valuable regional insights generated during SAGSE Central America & Caribbean 2026 in Panama, where security played a central role within the Executive Summit + Business Hub format. In Panama, SAGSE introduced an exclusive program for ALASCA members, casino security professionals, and specialized industry associations, featuring conferences, masterclasses, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and applied case studies.
The partnership between SAGSE and ALASCA has been consolidating a collaborative model in which security, operations, technology, and networking converge within the same professional environment. ALASCA brings together security professionals connected to more than 180 land-based casinos and over 700 electronic gaming operations across more than 13 Latin American countries, making it a key regional network for prevention, surveillance, applied intelligence, and cooperation among operators.
A Strategic Perspective for Management
On Wednesday, August 5, during the Executive Day of SAGSE Paraguay 2026, Casapia will deliver a presentation aimed at management teams, operators, regulators, C-level executives, and leaders of critical business areas.
The focus will be on understanding security not merely as an operational function but as a core business component. Topics will include fraud prevention, surveillance, internal controls, asset protection, risk analysis, regional cooperation, and the development of a security-driven organizational culture.
The session will seek to address a central question for operators and regulators: how to build safer, more professional gaming operations that are better prepared to face incidents, fraud, operational errors, and both internal and external threats.
Practical Training for Technicians and Operational Teams
On Thursday, August 6, as part of the Technical Day program, a second session will be conducted for technicians, gaming floor personnel, surveillance staff, supervisors, and operational teams.
This training will take a more hands-on approach, providing practical tools for day-to-day casino operations. Topics will include anomaly detection, incident response procedures, coordination between technical and surveillance teams, event documentation, critical areas, blind spots, machine monitoring, ticket controls, cash desk operations, and preventive best practices.
The session will also include the presentation of participation certificates, reinforcing SAGSE Paraguay’s commitment to professionalizing not only executive leadership but also the professionals responsible for sustaining the daily operation of gaming venues.
Security as a Culture, Not a Reaction
In an industry undergoing regulatory transformation, greater technological integration, online gaming expansion, and new operational challenges, security can no longer be viewed solely as a matter of physical surveillance.
It must become a cross-functional culture that connects management, technical teams, surveillance, compliance, technology, and regulators.
This will be the core message of ALASCA’s participation in SAGSE Paraguay 2026: bringing a regional, practical, and professional perspective to the local market on how to anticipate risks, prevent losses, protect assets, and strengthen confidence in gaming operations.
